Using the chutney jar attachment, you can easily make hummus in only a few minutes. Canned chickpeas and creamy tahini blend together to create a smooth, nutty dip, perfect for fresh vegetables or spreading on sandwiches! Add garlic, olives, or roasted red peppers to create variations on this basic recipe!

Ingredients:

1 15-ounce can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed

⅔ cup tahini

Juice of 1 lemon

¼ cup olive oil

Salt, to taste

Directions

  • 1. Set up Vidiem Mixer-Grinder by placing the chutney jar onto the motor base.
  • 2. Add all of the ingredients, in order, to the jar and secure the lid.
  • 3. Pulse a few times, holding the lid tightly in place.
  • 4. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 15 seconds.
  • 5. If necessary, scrape down the sides of the jar and blend again to ensure the mixture is evenly blended.
  • 6. Serve topped with a drizzle of olive oil

Yield: About 2.5 cups

Storage Keep in the refrigerator, in a container with a tight-fitting lid, for up to one week.

To help your hummus achieve an even creamier texture, add a splash of ice water after step 4 and blend again.
