Making your own spice blends is so easy and allows you to fully customize the flavors to your liking! This blend gets its deep, rich flavor from chipotle pepper flakes and smoked paprika, along with freshly toasted cumin and coriander seeds. Try it on grilled meats, fish, or vegetables, or even mix some with olive oil, garlic, and salt to create a flavorful marinade.

 

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp cumin seeds

1 Tbsp coriander seeds

1 ½ tsp chipotle pepper flakes (or to taste)

2-inch cinnamon stick

2 Tbsp smoked paprika

 

Directions

  1. Set up your Vidiem Mixer-Grinder by placing the spice grinder jar onto the motor base.
  2. In a small pan over medium-low heat, toast the cumin and coriander seeds until fragrant.
  3. Add the toasted seeds and chipotle flakes to the spice grinder jar and secure the lid. Pulse a few times, then grind on speed 1 into a fine powder.
  4. Add the smoked paprika and grind again, just for a few seconds to incorporate all of the spices.
  5. Store in a clean glass jar.

Yield: About ¼ cup
